What can be done to slow diabetes complications?

complications of diabetesDiabetes is a life long disease that can create chaotic waves throughout ones system. It is unfortunate, there is no cure for this disease, however there are ways and methods to slow down the complications.
You can regularly visit your doctor and provide daily (and sometimes numerous recordings through out a day) of your sugar count. The sugar in your blood system can account for how much sugar is being broken down and not being distributed equally. If you are an insulin user and or on a prescription medication, regular dosages required by your doctor will also assist in slowing down the complications.

A journal accounting your daily activities is also quite helpful in this process. Recording the times and dates revealing what you eat at meals, and the times, you can see and relate what foods were either higher in the sugar content or perhaps did not break down well. This can be accounted for the time of day you had a meal as well.

Recording your daily exercise is beneficial as well. One may think to perform a high end work out (example: lifting weights, running, etc) would do the trick, however, a simple walk for twenty minutes every day would be a great asset to the person. In relation to keeping a journal, you can record when and how long you did your walk. Walking is a great help to one with diabetes. Walking helps a tremendous amount for a person’s circulation, breathing, and less chances of having cramping and any other muscle issues.

Clothing is also a factor when deterring any of the complications. A person with diabetes are to be extra careful dealing with their feet. Anyone with diabetes can experience circulation issues, extreme dryness, and cramping. Taking the extra time and care for your feet would help extremely slowing down any complications. In reference to clothing, wearing too small and tight clothing can cause a person to experience and have breathing issues and circulation problems. Make sure to find either the exact or a size bigger in clothing.

Sugar induced drinks and foods can be an issue. It is quite normal for anyone having a craving for any baked goods, a cola, etc. The issue with these types of drinks and foods is that it can possibly cause one to raise their sugar level, or there are ones with diabetes that can actually have their sugar level drop dramatically. There are even too high levels of sugar in fruit juices. Orange juice, as for an example, can create a huge jump in sugar level for a person. Drinking water is highly recommended. This can deter any issues with ones circulation, any feet issues, and actually keep ones sugar level balanced.

Sleep would be a great help as well. As any doctor would recommend, a full eight hours of sleep at night, would greatly reduce any complications. It is quite possible as well that even after eating one may not feel as sluggish as before.
